HomeSchooling

I had been pondering the idea of homeschooling for a year now so when a friend of mine brought it up to me and asked why I don’t I then started to ask myself “why don’t I”. I knew for sure that I wanted a Montessori curriculum. In my opinion Arizona has a lousy school system there's no denying it. I refuse to put the kids in a public school here and promised myself I would do anything and everything to make sure that I did not have to. I don’t care if I have to switch jobs, take on a second one or whatever, the kids educations is to damn important to just send them to a school simply because were in that school district. I had chosen a certified Montessori school that was about 30 mins away (like I said, I’ll do anything). I LOVE the school and everything it has to offer the only thing I didn’t like was the fact that it would cost me $2,000 a month to have the kids attend! Now, I was completely willing to pay that price tag for good education and I still will however the more I started to research homeschooling programs and Montessori techniques the more I realized that I have everything in my court to be able to home school WITH a Montessori based curriculum. When I work its either from home or at night so I’m available all day. Even though Nathan goes to school full time there are still days and weekends where he is home. I already use Montessori tactics in our home and really, I have a complete passion for fmy kids education. Did I mention that I hate Arizona’s school systems? That its self give me enough MoJo to make this happen! Now for those of you who want to bring up the whole “socialization” that classrooms bring can move on. The last time I checked ‘socializing” isn’t competing with 15 to 25 other kids and besides school is for learning not socializing, that’s what extracurricular are for.

So I just thought I would share my exciting news with you all who like to stay updated in our day to day.
